A lion can live up to thirteen years

Category: Uncategorized | Date: Apr 07 2008 | By: admin

A lion is one of the largest predators in East Africa. It has no horns, has five toes on each foot, and four feet. It is a carnivore (eats flesh) and in the situation where is this is unavailable it can eat grass. A lion’s habitat is grassy plains and open woodlands.

The Zoological name of a Lion is PANTHERA LEO. Its size is about 48 inches at the shoulders, with 350 to 500 pounds in weight. Lion can be found throughout the Tarangire- Manyara Ecosystem (Ol tukai village). Lion live in a complex social group, called a pride, that consists of a dominant male and 5 to 10 females.

The Conservancy Anti-poaching team is conducting critical monitoring, patrolling, and researching about the role lions play in the Ol Tukai ecosystem. The Conservancy’s broad approach to landscape conservation works to ensure the survival of species like Lion (panthera leo).

We have made remarkable progress, thanks to people like you, who are interested in our
effectiveness.

We appreciate your continuing support.

Lions eating grass? My cats occasionally will eat a blade or two. These patrols are so vital to protecting the lions and other wildlife, thank you for sharing.
