Recently the Ol Tukai Conservancy anti-poaching team, in response to a report of gunshots on the southern section of the African Wildlife Foundation managed Manyara Ranch, discovered 4 carcasses of Zebra shot be .30 calibre rifes from vehicles. It can be asssumed that these were the animals that were wounded and fled the area as they were found @ 500 meters apart from each other.  It is unknown how many zebra were taken out of the area by the poachers as no evidence has been found or reports made as to the identity of the poachers. We saw no sign of skinning or dressing in the area and therefore make an educated guess that these zebra were shot for meat and not the skin trade.

I am not surprised. I am in TZ and it shocking how much bushmeat is poached every day. No serious action is being taken, surprisingly. It will be too late when people wake up! IM
