The Tarangire- Manyara wildlife corridors, known as Kwakuchinja, Lemungooro, Mswakini and Maramboi, have begun to record many successes. The project aims at enabling animals found in the northern part of Tanzania, especially from the Tarangire- Manyara national parks, move freely into Ol Tukai village, Manyara ranch the (controlled area, that managed by AWF/TLCT-Ngo), Ngorongoro, Serengeti and Vice versa.
The animals in these parks ( Tarangire- Manyara ecosystem) known no borders, therefore animals migrated annually using the Corridors in search of pastures, water and shelter, particularly during the calving/ breeding season. The said corridors, are the ones of the projects that being undertaken under the partnership/collaboration with AWF/TLCT Manyra ranch, The Conservancy and The wildlife division of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism of Tanzania.
Large mammals, such as Elephants, Zebras, Buffaloes, Wildeebests, Antelopes, to mention but a few, are also targeted in this project. It is well noted that, Villages along the sides of the corridors are taking care of wildlife, scout and protect.
